Welcome to the 13th International Symposium on Ecohydraulics (ISE2020),
which will be held online on November 23-24, 2020.

Following the cancellation of ISE2020 in May at Lyon, the Local Organising Committee decided to maintain the symposium, via an online version with a reduced number of presentations.

The Web Seminar is open and free. Please register to participate.

This two-day web seminar will include presentations by:

- Four keynote invited speakers
- Six speakers selected by the keynote invited speakers, contributing to Special Issues for the Journal of Ecohydraulics
- Two students awarded for their recent contribution to the Journal of Ecohydraulics, selected by the editorial team
- Four early career speakers presenting Ecohydraulic research from diverse geographical locations, selected by EcoEnet
- One speaker from the Euroflow network
In addition, four meetings will be held: Hydropeaking network, Euroflow session, ECoENet meeting, and IAHR Ecohydraulics.
All participants will be given the opportunity to submit questions during both presentations and meetings, using the chatbox.

For the participants initially expected at the Lyon conference in May, a Poster could be posted on the website.

The symposium is jointly convened by the International Association for Hydro-Environment engineering and Research (IAHR).

Ecohydraulics focuses on linkages between hydrodynamics, geomorphology, hydrology and ecological processes in freshwater, marine and lentic ecosystems. It is a highly interdisciplinary field that brings together a community working on topics such as aquatic movements of biota and bioenergetics, dynamics of sediment and nutrient transport, effects of flow regime regulation and physical restoration on aquatic habitats, and many others (see the Ecohydraulics website for more general informations on the community).
A major objective of ISE 2020 is to combine outstanding science and management of aquatic ecosystems. Note that for ISE2020 three special sessions are designed to become special issues of the recently launched Journal of Ecohydraulics.

We are confident that you will enjoy the symposium and the cultural exchanges on this occasion.

We look forward to seeing you online

We dedicate the ISE2020 Web Seminar to the memory of our colleague and friend Bernhard Statzner,
who had a major influence on Ecohydraulic Science
